Goring WIF11

GoringActive from 1947 to 1991, the Goring Women’s Institute held many bazaars, sales and social functions to fund their widely varied charitable donations and quilting efforts. The Institute, which met mostly in members’ homes near Goring (located in the north-western corner of the former Euphrasia Township on Grey Road 12, now part of the Municipality of Grey Highlands), served an area from Markdale to Owen Sound. In 1954 a Tweedsmuir History was begun, containing many photographs, and hand-written histories of schools, churches, properties and branch activities.
