Consequently, this sum was placed at the disposal of our Tweedsmuir History Book Committee for the purpose of constructing the cover of the book.

    In 1901 she visited .31r 4illiam Macdonald in Montreal and persuaded him to donate enough money to build and equip Macdonald Institute at the 0.A.C., Guelph, to be used as a traininp centre for girls interested in Home Economics. All thrcugh the years, the Women's Institutes of the World have honoured tLe memory of Mrs. Hoc:dless in many ways. In 1937 a cairn was erected to her memory at St. Corpe, and in 1959 the Federated 'omen's Institutes of Canada purchased her birthplace at St. George.
