Community Day Camp Groups
Bookings must be made at least 48 hours prior to your visit to ensure an interpreter is available to lead your group. Please call as soon as you have selected a date to avoid disappointment. Having a second date is recommended. To book your tour please phone 519-376-3690 x6128, or email. Online booking form is still to become available.
Supervisor to Child Ratios
One day camp supervisor per 6 children. We expect the supervisors to help supervise the children in any activities or crafts that may be a part of the program.
Rates
The cost is $5.00 per child if booked in advance, or $75.00 for the group, if it contains fewer than 15 children. Otherwise, your group may explore independently at $3.50 per child, if booked in advance. A tour group without a reservation is also very welcome to tour independently at $5.00 per child. Day camp supervisors are admitted free of charge. To ensure that your group gets the most out of their visit we strongly encourage a maximum of 40 children.
How do we pay for our visit?
Fees may be paid prior to your visit or upon arrival. We accept cash, cheque, VISA, MasterCard, or debit. Arrangements can be made to have your visit invoiced as well.
Time of Programs
Day camp programming is offered during regular camp hours Monday to Friday in morning and afternoon sessions. These times are flexible to meet your needs.
Preparation
We strongly recommend that you prepare your group of children for the visit beforehand. Talk about proper behaviour in a museum and share with them what they will be seeing when they arrive at Grey Roots and Moreston Heritage Village. If you require assistance or more information please let us know.
Additional Information
Grey Roots is fully wheelchair accessible. A coat room is available to store belongings during your visit. We are just a short distance from Inglis Falls, a beautiful part of the Grey Sauble Conservation Area. This is a perfect spot for lunch or for hiking!
