Group Tours

We are pleased to welcome your group to visit Grey Roots Museum & Archives. Your group will find a wealth of sights, sounds and stories to interest everyone! Let our experienced staff suggest an itinerary to suit your interests. We offer guided tours lasting approximately one hour. Visitors may choose to enjoy our permanent gallery, see one of our featured exhibits, the archives or even visit Moreston Village, our historic town.

Sights and Sounds of Grey

Come and see our indoor waterfall, hear the ducks as they fly over us and feel the rock beneath your feet! This tour includes a visit through our Grey County Gallery, highlights from the changing exhibits galleries, a visit to the Archives and a film presentation of “Wish You Were Here” in our state-of-the-art multimedia theatre. Available year round.

L’Chaim – To Life: The Story of the Beth Ezekiel Synagogue

A visit to this exhibit will leave your group feeling inspired by the strength, dedication and spirit of local Jewish people. This exhibition is a sensitive look at how one community prevailed over attrition, and rescued a small town synagogue from the brink of collapse. On the walls of the gently lit exhibit hall old family photos reminisce, while descriptive panels tell of a community determined to preserve its culture, religion, and values in this small town on the picturesque shores of Lake Huron's Georgian Bay. It is a story as old as the Jewish People: a story of faith and the pursuit of peace. Available until September 7 th, 2008.

Moreston – Grey Roots Heritage Village

Our village is a work-in-progress, and as the years go by, we will be adding to this community. Currently, visitors are welcome to explore the 1850 Log Cabin, the Blacksmith shop, the 1886 Log House and the 1930s Bluewater Garage with their Grey Roots guide. Your group will delight in seeing the evolution of small-town life in Grey County, from first settlers to the automobile age. For your safety and protection, groups must be accompanied by a Grey Roots Interpreter, as the balance of the site is a construction zone. Available from mid-May until mid-October.
