Meets the Ontario Curriculum for Grades 3, 6 & 7.

The Anishinabe people lived in harmony with the natural world around them.  They studied the animals, birds, and insects to understand the lessons and contributions to life made by all the creatures around them.

Through legends and stories, students will gain a better understanding of some of the animals and spiritual beliefs of the Anishinabe and how these beliefs shaped the day-to-day lives of the people.

Hear the story of Sky Woman, learn about the significant role played by the slow-moving shy turtle, and make a Medicine Wheel while discoviering its teachings.
