Welcome to Grey County!

Fall in Grey County brings spectacular colours which transform our many Grey’t Drives into even more photogenic excursions. From the Beaver Valley with its vibrant reds and golds, punctuated by maturing apple orchards near Meaford and Thornbury to the rolling countryside and historic mill towns along the Saugeen River in southern Grey, this is probably the best season for backroads touring.

It is also harvest season, when local foods are in greatest abundance. Farmers markets, roadside produce stands as well as many farm gate operations provide fresh and local produce, apples, honey, meats, maple syrup and much more. A growing list of restaurants serve up local cuisine that is a tribute to our agricultural heritage and the personality and innovations of each chef. Be sure to check out the extensive lists of locally available products and restaurants and fine dining that serve local foods at www.foodlinkgreybruce.com. A few suggested stops are given below, but much more information is available online. Weekly updates on the progression of fall colours from Ontario Tourism is a great start to planning your visit.
