Grand Opening 2012!

11 a.m.-5 p.m. Take a step back in time with us and celebrate our pioneer heritage at the opening of our Heritage Village, Moreston, on Sunday July 1, 2012, Canada Day. Take a guided tour through the Log Cabin, Log House, Farm House, Blacksmith Shop, School House, Bandstand, Schoolhouse and Bluewater Garage. See the pioneer demonstrations. Further details to follow.
Then throughout the summer until Labour Day, visitors can enjoy wandering through the village at their own pace, talking with our knowledgeable costumed volunteers about life in those by-gone days. Or you may prefer to join one of our three daily guided tours through the village with one of our Historic Site Interpreters. This type of tour gives you an opportunity to ask questions not only about the village and its future plans, but the Grey Roots main facility as well. 60 minute tours begin daily at 11:15 a.m., 1:15 p.m., and 3:15 p.m.
Please note that due to the historic nature of the buildings, some are not fully accessible. The site itself, the Blacksmith Shop, the Barn, the Bandstand, the Engine Works and the main area of the Garage and Schoolhouse are all accessible.
